Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc Picks Up Chivas Regal Challenge Against Hikaru
Ferrari Formula One driver Charles Leclerc – who is also a Chivas Regal ambassador – will compete against chess grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura on September 1, 2026, during the weeklong break between this weekend’s 2026 Dutch Grand Prix and the 2026 Italian Grand Prix on September 6, 2026.
Leclerc will compete against Hikaru, not in chess but at Se!ze, a chess-inspired game created by Leclerc. The game’s name is pronounced in French like the numeral 16, which is Leclerc’s Formula 1 number.
For their part, Chivas Regal created Chivas Regal 16, Leclerc’s debut whisky blend consisting of – what else? – 16 whiskies, each aged for a minimum of 16 years, with sherry cask-matured Longmorn single malt as a key base.
The match between Hikaru and Leclerc will be livestreamed on Chivas Regal’s YouTube channel on 1 September 1, 2026.
