House of Suntory and Harrods Reveals 175th Anniversary Whisky
A recent report on the Whiskey Wash outlines a new collaboration between House of Suntory and Harrods. The partnership will release a limited edition Hibiki Japanese Harmony Harrods 175th Anniversary Edition. Honoring its anniversary, the distillery will roll out only 175 bottles of the new spirit.
In 1834, Charles Henry Harrod founded Harrods as a grocery store and tea merchant. In 1849, the store moved to its Knightsbridge location offering global luxury items, including The House of Suntory’s whisky collection.
According to the article, Suntory’s Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita distilleries produce Hibiki whisky, a notable part of Harrods’ luxury collection. This new collaboration celebrates the refinement and timeless luxury of both companies.

Nobuyuki Akiyama, Managing Director of The House of Suntory, highlighted the shared vision of both companies founders:
“Shinjiro Torii introduced whisky to Japan, sharing his creation with the world. Charles Henry Harrod brought a variety of global products to London, creating a unique shopping experience.”
As for the bottle and packaging design, no stones were left unturned. Amazing images on the Limited-edition bottle incorporate Harrod’s heritage with Suntory’s luxury branding. The design includes a peacock, a motif from Harrods’ food halls since the 1900s, and a tealeaf, representing Harrods’ origins as a tea merchant in 1849.
In addition, it displays Harrod’s motto, “Omnia Omnibus Ubique” which means “All Things for All People Everywhere.”
André Lewis, Head of Buying for Food, Wine & Spirits at Harrods, said: “This exclusive release combines the craftsmanship of Suntory whisky with the heritage of Harrods. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a fitting tribute to our legacy, reflecting our commitment to excellence.”
Furthermore, the post highlighted the whisky essence in no uncertain terms. “Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky offers a blend of lychee, rosemary, and sandalwood on the nose, with a palate of honey-like sweetness, candied orange peel, and white chocolate, and a subtle finish with hints of Mizunara oak.”
