Indri Whisky Expands to UK Spirits Market
As India’s largest independent malt spirits producer, Piccadily launched Indri Whisky in the domestic market in 2021. It was brought to the international market in 2022. And now, Mangrove Global is launching it in the UK.
Indri Trini is the brand’s flagship expression and consists of whiskies matured in three different types of casks. These are bourbon, French wine, and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
According to the official press release: “This three-wood marriage allows for each cask to contribute its unique taste, without overshadowing the original Whisky’s flavor, which features a fruitier, sweeter and nuttier profile.”
Dru, one of the expressions of the Indri range, is a cask-strength whisky matured in selected ex-bourbon barrels. “The end result is a complex, long, mixed fruit finish and a true awakening of the senses.”

Indri’s Diwali, released in 2023, is distilled from peated six-row barley and matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. This expression has won multiple awards, including a double gold at the Whiskies of the World Awards. There are only a limited number of bottles of Indri’s Diwali available,
Premium spirits distributor Mangrove Global distributes brands such as Uncle Nearest, Akashi, and Red Bank Whisky worldwide. The distributor is renowned for limited editions and rare whiskies.
John Coe and Nick Gillett founded the company in 2006 and the company recently acquired by GBH, a Martinique-based company. Mangrove plans to expand its operations throughout 2024 and bring more award-winning spirits to the UK market.
“There is something really exciting about whiskies produced and aged in such extreme climates,” said Stef Holt, Curator of the Mangrove Whisky Portfolio, about the launch of Indri Whisky in the UK.
“The way the production processes are tweaked because of this produces flavours you can’t find anywhere else. Indri’s whiskies are very rich and complex with tropical fruit aromas and velvety texture.”
