Jameson Unleashes Torrent Of Whiskies Upon World
Jameson just went crazy with their Irish Whiskey collection. Well, perhaps “crazy” is a tad overly dramatic, but they have at least shuffled their Irish Whiskey lineup by creating a trio of whiskey families called “The Whiskey Makers Series”, Heritage whiskeys and The Deconstructed Series.
The Whiskey Makers Series
This is a new range of Jameson whiskies and is comprised of three whiskies that celebrate the people behind Jameson and their craft.
The Distiller’s Safe – This whiskey utilizes the original copper pot still distillate. The blended whiskey notes of apricot, cinnamon and melon. The Distiller’s Safe is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80 proof] and is available globally for $80 per bottle.
The Cooper’s Croze – This whiskey highlights the role of the croze – a tool used to make the groove where the head of the cask is positioned. This blended whiskey is matured in virgin American oak barrels, seasoned bourbon barrels and Spanish Iberian sherry casks and delivers notes of vanilla, fruit and spice. The Cooper’s Croze is also bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80 proof] and available globally for $80 per bottle.
The Blender’s Dog – This whiskey showcases another tool of the industry – the so-called “dog” – which is used to collect whiskey samples from the casks. The Blender’s Dog has notes of butterscotch and spice. The Blender’s Dog is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80 proof] and is available globally for $80 per bottle.
Heritage Whiskies
This is a new collection of Irish Whiskies that highlight three Jameson backstories – Jameson Black Barrel, Jameson Crested and Jameson Signature – each expression in the range tells a different story from Jameson’s past.
Jameson Black Barrel – This triple-distilled Irish whiskey that pays tribute to the method of charring barrels for a second time. The blended whiskey is matured in a combination of American oak, sherry casks and double-charred bourbon barrels producing notes of vanilla, caramel and fruit. Jameson Black Barrel is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80 proof] and is available globally for $55 per bottle.
Jameson Crested – This triple-distilled Irish Whiskey was actually released three months ago as part of a celebration of the opening of Jameson’s Bow Street Distillery in Dublin. Jameson Crested blends pot still Irish Whiskey and grain whiskey, matured in sherry casks, as well as bourbon barrels, and produces notes of spice and chocolate. Jameson Crested is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80 proof] and is available globally for $40 per bottle.
Jameson Signature – This triple-distilled Irish Whiskey bears the actual signature of John Jameson, which used to be a requirement on all casks of Jameson whiskey back in the day. The whiskey has notes of vanilla, citrus and honey. Jameson Signature is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80 proof] and is available for $55 per bottle.
The Deconstructed Series
The Deconstructed Series is a range of Irish Whiskeys launched in October 2015 that each emphasizes a particular flavor trait.
