Kilchoman Sweetens The Peat With Maury
Islay-based Kilchoman distillery has sweetened the peat with the first-ever debut of their limited edition single malt whisky matured in French ex-sweet fortified wine casks. Maury is a sweet fortified wine made from Grenache Noir grapes from the Roussillon region of southern France. The red wine grape variety is known for resulting in aromas of cherry, fig, and white pepper.
Kilchoman Maury Cask Matured was bottled at 50% alcohol by volume [100 proof] and with the Maury cask inclusion is said to offer notes of cherry, fig, peat and pepper.
Kilchoman Maury Cask Matured is being made available via the distillery’s official website for $95 per bottle.
The family-owned distillery celebrated their 20th anniversary last year.
