Whiskymaker’s RESERVE NO.4 Is World’s Best Single Malt
The taste has been discovered, and another whisky rises to the hall of single malt fame. Reserve No. 4, has been awarded this year’s title of the World’s Best Single Malt.
On March 24, 2023, the world’s whisky community united in London and celebrated the 2022 Whisky Magazine Awards. As is customary, they announced the World Whiskies Awards and the Icons of Whisky global winners.
The Whisky Magazine Awards selects the best candidates in the industry – its people, places, and products. It honors excellence in every fabric, from bartenders to brand ambassadors, retailers to destination managers. Applauding those who have labored to produce and promote whisky.
Among these awards and honors, the magazine recognized the invaluable contribution of the Lakes Distillery’. Starting as a Victorian farmstead, the Lakes labored hard and long to transform their products into world renowned whiskies.
The Award Selection Process
A panel made up of journalists and industry experts is used to select the winners each year. The selection process involves two rounds, the first of which is an elimination moment that selects the top 24 four global finalists.
Judges must taste each brand before casting their final votes. The whiskies are compared with each other, head-to-head with whiskies from Japan, Scotland, the UK, the US, and more.
The judges awarded The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.4 as the “World’s Best Single Malt Whisky”. The recognition puts Lakes Distillery among the best whisky producers in the world. Such companies as Glenmorangie, Bunnahabhain, Aberlour, Kavalan
