South African Scotch whisky brand Bell’s has an ad that should have run in the Super Bowl – and we are thinking it would have beaten out the vast majority of the ones that did – about an elderly man who learns how to read and if that wasn’t reward enough, gets some whisky to boot!
Camus Coming Your Way
There were only 990 bottles of Camus 1983 Fins Bois cognac produced and it is officially part of the House of Camus’ Rarissimes range – reserved for those cognacs distinguished as a rare or unusual cognac. Freya is a 15-year-old whisky said to have a white chocolate nose with tropical fruit and smoky finishes. […]

The hotel purchased the 70 cl bottle of rare cognac from a French collector last year and is making the liquid gold available to its […]
Fancy A Shot Of Michter’s Sour Mash? Head To St. Petersburg
There were only 273 bottles – each bottle costing $5000 – of Michter’s celebration Sour Mash Whiskey ever produced. That’s not quite in The Macallan “M” in a Roman emperor-nicknamed Lalique decanter territory but it is pretty spendy for a sour mash and you’ll be hard-pressed to find some – unless you find yourself at the Cask and Ale in St. Petersburg, Florida…
Hoellinger Back At Glenmorangie
After a short stint with parent company Moet Hennessy, Marc Hoellinger is back – this time as chief executive – at Glenmorangie Distillery. Why is this important to you as a whisky drinker? Because it was Hoellinger, in his role as marketing director at Glenmorangie from 2008-11, who oversaw the distillery’s rapid growth in the American market, particularly for the namesake Glenmorangie Scotch whisky label. Hoellinger has spent the last […]

Louisiana is known for spicing things up and now the state has spiced up the American whiskey market by producing its first legal barrel-aged whiskey ever – LA1 – from the Donner-Peltier distillery in Thibodaux. Newcastle Brown Ale’s Super Bowl Ad
Newcastle Brown Ale would like to show you their swanky, sexy Super Bowl ad designed to sell thousands of beers – but alas, they can’t – because Budweiser has a deal with the NFL and that deal prevents any other beer company from running an ad during the big game as well as even saying the words “super” and “bowl” in conjunction with their beer. So if you want to […]

Glengoyne Whisky Released From Captivity
After waiting around 25 years maturing in 100% first-fill European oak sherry casks, Glengoyne finally relinquished some of its single malt whisky for the world. Using the unique method of drying their malted barley only with warm air – to persuade subtle flavors from the barley – Glengoyne whisky process takes longer from start to finish than most other single malts and generally results in toffee and spice palates. Glengoyne […]
