Crown Royal Enlists Sly And The Family Stone For Live Music Saving Message
Using Sly and the Family Stone as the messenger, Diageo-owned Crown Royal is making a plea to keep independent live music venues [including bars and clubs] from disappearing.
Crown Royal partnered with US record labels Dreamville and Republic Records, to employ their singers Ari Lennox and Anthony Ramos, to record a cover of the Sly and the Family Stone classic, “If You Want Me to Stay”.
The track is available to stream now and for every play of the track Crown Royal will donate funds to charity Main Street Alliance to support venues across America. Lennox and Ramos will also donate their royalties from the song to the cause, and their donations will be matched by both Dreamville and Republic Records.
The track’s official music video will launch next week on Lennox’s Vevo channel.
