Crown Royal Shutters Bottling Plant In Canada
London-based spirits behemoth Diageo – owners of Crown Royal – have announced plans to shutter its plant in Ontario, Canada, and move operations to the USA.
Crown Royal was initially introduced 86 years ago to celebrate a visit by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and was only available in Canada until the 1960s, when it was brought to the USA.
Crown Royal was acquired in 2001 by Diageo and has kept production in Canada since their purchase….until now. Diageo said it would shift its bottling operations to the USA beginning in February 2026.
