House Of Suntory To Roll Out Yamazaki 55-Year-Old Single Malt Blend
Prepare your bank account now because House of Suntory will be globally releasing their 55-year-old whisky – Yamazaki 55 – after already releasing 100 bottles into the Japanese market last year.
Yamazaki 55 is a blend of single malts that was aged in both mizunara casks and white oak casks, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to contain notes of sandalwood and ripe fruit.
Yamazaki 55 is being made available – in extremely limited quantities – in China, Taiwan, the UK and USA, for a mere $60,000 per bottle.
However, for every bottle purchased, House of Suntory owner Beam Suntory will donate US$5,000 to The White Oak Initiative, a project dedicated to the conservation of white oak forests in the USA.
