Kavalan Whisky Debuts with Style in Cananda
Taiwanese whisky distillery Kavalan Whisky has reached an agreement with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) to distribute its brands in Ontario. Kavalan struck an impressive deal that allowed it to sell three of its whisky brands in the Canadian province.
Canadians will be able to expand their Kavalan Whisky collections at more affordable prices and from nearby liquor stores. Although Kavalan whisky is sold throughout Canada, most of it is by shipment and online purchases. The new permit will allow the following brands to line any retail or convenience store.
- Kavalan Solist Ex-Bourbon Cask
- The Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry Cask
- And Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique
Kavalan is a world-renowned whisky brand with a huge following in the whisky community. The company saw its sales leap this year due to travel retail sales. In South Korea, the whisky brand grew by over 169%. However, the case in Canada may be one of the most eloquent examples of the impact on brand following.
Kavalan Whisky Fans
Since 2009, Lawrence Schoen has been an ardent and loyal fan of Kavalan Whisky. After trying the Kavalan Classic, he set out on a mission to share the brand throughout Canada. He then founded the Truth Malters with the aim of sharing not just Kvalan, but ‘some of the highest-quality whiskies from the world’s top distillers.’
Nonetheless, Schoen went further. He started a group called ‘KavFan’ which unites like-minded Kavalan lovers around the world.
According to the Asian Food Journal, Kavalan was crowned this year as the Best of the Best Single Malt Whisky in Tokyo 2023. The brand also picked up several other awards such as “Distillery of the Year.” at the IWC 2023 International Whisky Competition.
Kavalan Distillery is a Taiwanese-based distillery and bottler. It offers whisky trail tourism to both local and international tourists. With the current liquor agreement Canadians will find the best whisky brands in stores nationwide.
