Speyside distillery Tamdhu has released a 12-Year-Old single malt Scotch whisky. Tamdhu 12-Year-Old has been bottled at 43% alcohol by volume [86 proof] after being matured for 12 years in first-fill and re-fill American and European Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. Tamdhu 12-Year-Old is said to contain notes of banana and cinnamon. Tamdhu 12-Year-Old is being made available for $60 per bottle.

The Macallan is taking their rare cask bottlings and moving them into three Rare Cask batches with each of the three Rare Cask batches originating from first-fill Sherry-seasoned oak casks. The Macallan will release three batches in 2018 and each is said to contain notes of chocolate, oak and vanilla. Batch One of The Macallan Rare Cask is being made available for $300.

Highland Park Reveals 50-Year-Old
Highland Park Distillery has revealed a single malt distilled in 1964 in a combination of two Spanish sherry hogshead casks and later enhanced with a dollop of the original 1960 vintage 50-year-old Highland Park. Highland Park 50 Year Old is bottled at 42.3% alcohol by volume [84.6 proof] and will be made available for a mere $18,000 per bottle in October 2018.
