Celtic Distillery Debuts Gwalarn Blend
Brittany, France-based Celtic Whisky Distillery has released a blended whisky called Gwalarn – honoring the distillery’s practice of collecting whiskies in the Celtic region and blending them in Brittany. Celtic Gwalarn is subsequently diluted with natural mineral water that flows through the region’s pink granite rocks, which are said to impart notes of gingerbread, honey, leather, peat and vanilla. Celtic Gwalarn is being made available for $45 per bottle.
The Lakes Distillery Adds Single Malt To Whiskymaker’s Edition Series
UK-based The Lakes Distillery has released Recuerdo – a limited edition single malt addition to their Whiskymaker’s Editions series. The Lakes Recuerdo was matured in ex-sherry casks, bottled at 57% alcohol by volume [114 proof] and is said to contain notes of almond, dark chocolate and orange. Only 900 bottles of The Lakes Recuerdo are being made available.
