25 Is Glengoyne’s Magic Number
Glengoyne has finally released the hounds – unveiling its 25-Year-Old single malt scotch whisky from their European oak sherry casks. The “new” 25-Year-Old whisky comes out at 48% alcohol content [96 proof] and is said to have flavor notes of oak, cinnamon and orange marmalade. The Glenglassaugh Distillery has produced a limited production of its exclusive Torfa single malt whisky. The heavily peated Torfa [which translates roughly to “turf” in NE Scottish dialect] uses malted barley dried over peat-infused kilns to give it a distinctive smoky flavor. The new Glenglassaugh Torfa boasts a 50% alcohol content [100 proof] and retails for $70.
