Spirit of Yorkshire Launches Sherry Cask Reserve
Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery has released the festive season whisky completing it special limited edition. The last expressions for the Christmas season consist of the ultimate bottles of Filey Bay Sherry Cask Reserve #4.
The whisky, 46% ABV, is the 4th of the distillery’s annual autumn Sherry Cask Reserve series. It blends ex-PX, ex-Moscatel, and ex-Oloroso sherry hogsheads and butts. The result is a rich spirit with flavors of dried fruits, black treacle, cranberry, cocoa, and cola sweets.
Spirit of Yorkshire Christmas Edition
Whisky director at Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, Joe Clark said:
“This year’s Filey Bay Sherry Cask Reserve shows a completely different side of our warehouse and is a complex marriage of casks built around some of our rarest stocks of sherry casks. It includes one of our most precious Oloroso sherry butts which was filled in the first autumn of our distillery’s production. It is incredibly rare and distinctly special, with its rich, warming flavors perfect for the winter months.”
The special edition whisky will only bottle 2,000 units and will become available from November 16, 2023. Shoppers may purchase ate the Spirit of Yorkshire website, from the distillery store and retailers nationwide. The spirit will retail at the York St. Nicholas’ Christmas Market until December 23, 2023.
Spirit of Yorkshire is a locally operated distillery owned by the business partnership of Tom Mellor and David Thompson. The distiller employs the township and uses 100% homegrown products. It depends on locally cultivated barley to produce its single malt whisky. Filey Bay single malt whisky is now available throughout the UK and in a growing number of export markets.
The distillery was created by the Mellors on the coast. In June 2016, the team ran the stills for the first time and filled the first whisky casks. Filey Bay First Release was bottled in September 2019 and since then Filey Bay has grown and prospered.
