Emperador Boasts High Performance Thanks to Whisky Portfolio
Driven by a high-performing whisky sales outlook, Emperador reported a healthy mid-year revenue growth. The company leaned on the strong sales of its whisky portfolio to note double-digit growth this year.
In an impressive report on its revenue, Philippine liquor distillery Emperador revealed that its revenue soared 11 percent to S$742 million in the first half of this fiscal year. up from a year ago, as its global whisky arm continued to garner demand.
In addition. Emperador submitted a detailed bourse filing on Friday, Aug 11, seeing that it is traded on both the Philippine Stock Exchange and the Singapore Exchange. A spokesperson from the company stated that its whisky segment exhibited a “stellar performance”, even though its brandy output only recorded slight growth. The distillery identified a robust brandy performance even in the presence of inflationary headwinds.
Furthermore, Emperador had strong praises for its whisky portfolio which it credited for the unexpected double-digit growth response. The company’s whisky sales have been growing steadily during the first half of 2023, making it a growth leader on both stock exchange. It highlighted special market segments including Asia and the United States.
Speaking to a media conference, Emperador president Winston Co highlighted one of the most important sales units from its whisky plethora was the single malt whisky portfolio. He later noted that it was behind the strong performance. It “continues to be among the fastest-growing single malts in the world”,
Nonetheless, the company noted that the recurring profit to parent remained relatively parallel despite the outstanding upswing of revenues. The figures showed a slight difference of 4.7 billion pesos, versus 4.8 billion pesos recorded in H1 2022.
Finalizing its presentation with an ambitious project update, the group outlined that an expansion of the whisky maturation complex at Invergordon Distillery in Scotland was progressing steadily and that it would double its landspace from 45.4 hectares to 92 hectares.
