Royal Salute Releases 21-year-old Harris Reed Edition
Royal Salute has announced the release of its 21-year-old Harris Reed Edition. Reed is a celebrated designer for Nina Ricci and the rare decanter has a suggested retail price of $248 and an alcohol by volume of 40%.
“I always strive to focus my creativity on magnifying what’s on the inside, and diving into the depths of Royal Salute’s unique heritage and our shared passion for craft and pushing creative boundaries became a rich source of inspiration throughout our collaboration,” Reed said in a news release. “Luxury is something to collect and treasure, and I am so delighted to share such an exceptional whisky that can be enjoyed and talked about around the globe.”
In Reed’s modern interpretation of the royal crown, the bottle features a “striking halo of feathers” in reference to the 21-year-old blend.

According to Reed, the feathers on the label were inspired by previous designs.
“I revisited my past shows, my VIP projects, and other significant moments to distill the essence of my brand into the bottle design,” he said. “I drew inspiration from my headpieces — particularly those I created for figures like Solange and Peter Lindbergh and a more recent feathered headpiece for Beyoncé.”
Royal Salute says that the 21-year-old scotch is balanced with sherry-matured Braeval whisky, which is characterized by raisin and spice aromas. The brand added that he chose these flavors because they reminded him of specific memories from his childhood.
Adding grain whisky and charred virgin oak gave this spirit a luxuriously creamy texture and layered flavors. A marriage of malts was rested in American oak barrels, adding fruit and sweet flavors.
Chivas Brothers‘ scotch whisky brand released that Reed designed a fashion collection featuring three looks inspired by scotch decanters along with matching headpieces.
A new royal family was being ushered into power in a theatrically magical way. The scotch brand hired Ruth Hogben, a female director, to capture this journey and Erin O’Connor, a supermodel, to wear the looks.
