Hennessy Promotes Their Cognac In A Major Way
Hennessy is continuing its “Wild Rabbit” advertising campaign of their cognac with a feature on world champion cyclist Marshall “Major” Taylor who became the first African American to win a world championship way back in 1899.
Marshall “Major” Taylor was born in Indiana, Indianapolis in 1878 and began racing professionally at the ripe old age of 18 and would go on to hold seven world records by 1898 when cycling was one of the world’s top professional sports. Taylor competed for 14 years and retired in 1910. He died, penniless, in Chicago in 1932.
For the commercial, Hennessy employed rapper Nas for the voiceover but Hennessy is also working with ESPN on a documentary about Taylor that is set to air at noon [PST] on April 22, 2018.
