Lavagulin Gets Jazz-y For 2020
Lavagulin is not allowing the undeniably crappy year of 2020 escape without at least a sliver of good news as they have released a limited edition 22-year-old single malt Scotch whisky called Lagavulin Jazz 2020 – celebrating the 22nd anniversary of the Islay Jazz Festival [which will be held in an online format on 3 October 3, 2020].
The 2020 Islay Jazz Festival will feature musical performances, some features of the connections between jazz and whisky, and a showcase of whisky-based cocktails.
The Lavagulin Jazz 2020 was matured in refill American and European Oak casks [some seasoned with wine] and bottled at 52.6% alcohol by volume [105.2 proof].
Only a mere 2,004 bottles of Lavagulin Jazz 2020 are being made available – exclusively at the Lavagulin Distillery – for $525 per 700ml bottle beginning on October 3, 2020.
