Tiiiiiiiin Roof, Rusted! – At Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont
WhiskyCritic took some time out from the busy schedule of providing news of whisky to actually try some whisky – specifically, in the form of a cocktail called “Tin Roof Rusted” at Hollywood’s famed Chateau Marmont.
The cocktail – new for 2017 at the Chateau – is, of course, based on a line from the B-52’s 1989 hit song “Love Shack” [with the Chateau being significantly more than a shack] – and consists of rye, smoked peach, ginger liquer, lemon and soda water. However, WC tried that version, then substituted blackberry for the smoked peach when the smoked peach was exhausted – and can report that although WC still preferred the peachy version, blackberries work just as well.
If you see a faded sign at the side of the road that says “15 miles to the Chateau Marmont” [at 8221 Sunset Boulevard] – then WC recommends giving the Tin Roof Rusted a try.
