Shieldaig Unveils Single Malt And Rocket Cat
A new Speyside single malt Scotch whisky was revealed from Shieldaig as well as a cinnamon-flavored whiskey called Rocket Cat. The single malt Shieldaig [“Loch of the Herring” in Norse] is bottled at 40% alcohol content [80 proof] while the Rocket Cat is bottled at 34% alcohol content [68 proof]. Glenfiddich has teamed with the Somerset Cider Brandy company in a deal which will allow Glenfiddich to use Somerset’s barrels to mature their whisky over the course of the next year.
