Kevin Spacey Gets First Shot

If you already like Kevin Spacey then you will probably like him even more when you find out that he has teamed with fellow actor Willem Dafoe in an indie film project sponsored by the Jameson Whiskey. The way it works is this – Spacey’s film production company accepts entries for short films that must star his friend Dafoe and not include explicit product placement nor excessive drinking. Spacey selects three winners, one each from whiskey’s largest selling markets – that would be USA, South Africa and Russia – and hopefully launches the film career of a budding filmmaker in the process. The 2013 winners are Shirlyn Wong [USA], Hanneke Schutte [South Africa] and Anton Lanshakov [Russia].

The competition is in the second year of a three-year pact with Jameson and the winners may be seen at the official site, aptly titled Jameson First Shot.
