Islay-based Elixir Distillers has released their newest single malt whisky – Port Askaig 12-Years-Old Spring Edition. Port Askaig 12 Years Old Spring Edition was matured 12 years, bottled at 45.8% alcohol by volume [91.6 proof] and is said to contain notes of lemon sherbet, key lime pie and peated malt. Port Askaig 12 Years Old Spring Edition is being made available for $90 per 700ml bottle.
Heineken Purchases Stake In Double Dutch Premium Mixer Company
Heineken, via their family, has purchased a stake – said to be worth nearly 10% – in the Double Dutch tonic water and mixer company. With the deal Heineken will have shareholder Michel de Carvalho join Double Dutch’s supervisory board. Double Dutch – founded in 2015 by Netherlands-born twins Raissa and Joyce de Haas – has sold more than a million bottles a month in 26 countries.
