Somebody’s Got Pappy!

There is drama afoot in Kentucky as the well-known Buffalo Trace Distillery called their local police department last week and it wasn’t to invite them over for the annual Halloween party – it was to report the abduction of Pappy Van Winkle. More notably, somebody had absconded with 195 bottles [or 65 cases’ worth] of the company’s rarest bourbon – Pappy Van Winkle 20-Year-Old. Police have so far only indicated two elements of the bourbon burglary – that they think it took over two months for the thieves to commit the crime and that they think it was an inside job – which narrows it down to only about 50 employees or so [and their associates].

There had been plans to release 7000 bottles of Pappy Van Winkle this year but that might be 195 bottles short now and if you can get your hands on some Pappy, the going retail price is $130 per bottle.
